About the role

About the Role: We're looking for a Relationship Manager to work with some of the most exciting startups in the world. You'll be part of the team that introduces founders to Mercury, helps them adopt our core financial products, and ensures their first experience with us is seamless and impactful.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, founder-facing environments and wants to grow their career in FinTech Relationship Management. You'll handle a high-volume book of startups, provide responsive day-to-day support, and partner with senior leaders to identify and nurture accounts as they scale.

What You'll Do:

Serve as the first relationship contact for startups, ensuring they're getting the most business value out of Mercury.

Build relationships across a startup's team, helping them grow and scale their business while adopting Mercury's core suite.

Execute playbooks that ensure consistent engagement across a large portfolio of startups.

Proactively retain, expand, and surface opportunities and high-growth startups across the book of business.

Advocate the customer experience by collaborating with cross-functional teams (Sales, Partnerships, Product).

Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and drive account growth.

What You'll Bring:

2–4 years in FinTech, Customer Success, early-stage banking, or startup-facing Account Management.

Experience working with founders or early-stage teams; comfort with ambiguity and speed.

Surgical precision on effectively managing a large book of accounts with automation and playbooks without losing personal touches.

Strong communication skills and responsiveness across Slack, email, and ability to in-person events (<20%).

A customer-first, process-driven mindset.

Operational rigor of strong documentation, proactive communication, and project management.

Bonus points if you have your Series 65 license, CFP, or CFA charterholder.

Role location: San Francisco, CA, New York, NY, Portland, OR, or Remote within United States.

Target new hire base salary ranges: US employees in NYC, LA, Seattle, or SF Bay Area: $119,400 - $134,300 USD. US employees outside those metros: $107,500 - $120,900 USD.
