About the role

Mercury is the fintech startups use for banking\* and all their financial workflows. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced individual with a background in either risk, banking, compliance, AML, fraud or regulatory to assist our Ongoing Due Diligence (ODD) team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough reviews of existing accounts to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and providing support for our BPO partners.

As part of the journey, we would expect you to:

Conduct KYC Refresh and/or Enhanced Due Diligence Reviews as needed

Identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary volumes through trends and themes associated to reviews conducted

Support our BPO partners with escalations tied to various review types tied to CIP, CDD & EDD

Communicate effectively with various stakeholders and customers

After account review, document rationale to maintain or exit decisions on customer accounts

Identify and escalate any potential issues or concerns to management

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all reviews conducted

Role location: San Francisco, CA, New York, NY, Portland, OR, or Remote within Canada or United States.

Target new hire base salary ranges: US employees in NYC, LA, Seattle, or SF Bay Area: $85,500 - $96,200 USD. US employees outside those metros: $77,000 - $86,600 USD. Canadian employees: $80,800 - $90,900 CAD.

Minimum requirements

  • Background in risk, banking, compliance, AML, fraud, or regulatory
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and KYC/EDD processes
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail and effective communication skills
