Our story

It started as a spreadsheet.

Before OpenJobs existed, Omeed was juggling applications, LinkedIn messages, resumes and notes across countless tabs. One evening he went to follow up with a recruiter and found he had already messaged someone else at the same company a week earlier, and never followed up.

Effort wasn't the problem. Structure was. So he built a tracker. Friends started using it and said the same thing: it made the search clearer and less overwhelming. That tracker became the blueprint for OpenJobs. We didn't bolt a tracker onto a job board. We built a job board around the tracker.

We wrote the first line of code in August 2024, launched as jobboardai.io that October, and became OpenJobs in March 2026.
