General Function:
The Deployment Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing complex deployment, relocation, and removal activities for security screening equipment across airport environments nationwide. This role requires strong leadership, technical understanding, stakeholder coordination, and the ability to manage multiple staff in support of TSA and Commercial airport Checked Baggage and Checkpoint deployment projects in a fast‑paced, highly regulated environment.

Specific Duties:
Oversee all aspects of field deployments, relocations, and removals of security screening systems, ensuring compliance with TSA specifications and industry standards.
Coordinate with TSA personnel, airport authorities, OEM representatives, electrical subcontractors, and rigging teams to successfully execute deployment activities.
Lead and manage a team of experienced Site Leads, providing direction and oversight during site surveys and onsite deployment operations.
Establish and maintain safety procedures, quality control processes, and performance metrics for field operations.
Collaborate closely with Engineering teams during equipment design and planning to ensure technical alignment with TSA and industry requirements.
Support Project Managers in developing project schedules, subcontractor Statements of Work, and other contract‑required documentation.
Identify and communicate risks related to scope, schedule, and budget, and support mitigation planning.
Manage staffing, scheduling support, training, and performance for onsite deployment teams to ensure operational readiness and capability.
Partner with rigging subcontractors to develop specialized rigging strategies for complex installations, including multi‑level CT scanner deployments.
Qualifications
Experience:
Proven experience managing nationwide field deployments in regulated environments, preferably TSA or aviation security.
Demonstrated leadership managing onsite technical teams.
Strong understanding of electrical and data site preparation, equipment installation, and rigging processes.
Experience coordinating with federal agencies, airport stakeholders, and multiple subcontractors.
Excellent organizational, communication, and risk‑management skills.
Ability to travel frequently to support field deployment activities.
Ability to pass and maintain TSA background checks and employment suitability requirements.
Desired Experience:
Prior experience with MSEDS, RSEDS, SEDS, TEDS, or similar TSA programs.
Background working with OEM systems, MSEDS, RSEDS, CT scanners and other security technologies in support of airport baggage handling and checkpoint systems.
Experience with TSA Planning Guidelines and Design Standards (PGDS version 8)
Education:
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Systems, or similar); OR
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical field
OR
Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, Project Management, or related field and minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in deployment, construction coordination, logistics management, field engineering, or airport operations

Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field, or Associate degree plus 10 years relevant experience
- Proven experience managing nationwide field deployments in regulated environments, preferably TSA or aviation security
- Ability to travel frequently and pass/maintain TSA background checks and employment suitability requirements
