Description
The Intern – Onboard Experience will support the strategy, design, implementation, and measurement of onboard products and service experiences that enhance the customer and employee journey onboard United aircraft. This internship provides exposure to food and beverage, onboard products and equipment, service design, and strategic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Support coordination of onboard product and service initiatives across internal workgroups and external partners
Assist with research, benchmarking, and competitive analysis related to onboard hospitality and customer experience trends
Help maintain and update matrices of onboard offerings across cabins and markets
Analyze customer, operational, and competitive data to identify insights and opportunities
Support development of presentations, reports, and project trackers
Assist with planning and execution of onboard product initiatives and rollout activities
Partner with team members to document milestones, decisions, and action items
Contribute ideas that support a best-in-class onboard experience
This position is a hybrid role including a combination of days worked in our Chicago office and remotely.
No Direct Path: This internship is designed solely to provide you with skill development and valuable work experience. This role will likely not be converted to a full-time position at United at the conclusion of the internship.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Applicant must be a rising Sophomore or Junior in the Spring/Summer of 2027
Currently pursuing a bachelors degree in Business, Hospitality, Marketing, Analytics, Aviation Management, or related field
Strong interest in customer experience, hospitality, airline operations, or service design
Analytical mindset and familiarity with Excel and PowerPoint
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
Collaborative and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Previous internship or project experience in hospitality, aviation, operations, marketing, or analytics
Experience creating presentations, dashboards, or reports
Experience working on team-based projects
Demonstrated understanding of the capabilities and limitations of generative AI tools and the ability to leverage AI effectively to support research, analysis, content creation, and problem-solving. Applies critical thinking to validate AI-generated outputs while adhering to organizational policies related to responsible AI use, data privacy, and security.
The starting rate for this role is $20.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education and skills. This position may also be eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
