The salary range for this position is $44.29 - $59.79 (Hourly Rate)

Description

The Practice Manager reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Practice Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and oversight of anesthesia provider scheduling to ensure optimal staffing, operational efficiency, and high-quality patient care across surgical and procedural settings.

Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and optimize daily, weekly, and long-term schedules for anesthesiologists, CRNAs, fellows, and residents (as applicable).

Manage call schedules, rotations, vacation requests, and leave coverage while ensuring equity and compliance with departmental guidelines.

Analyze historical case volume, block utilization, and staffing trends to improve scheduling efficiency

Utilize scheduling software (Qgenda) and analytics tools to generate reports on staffing efficiency, overtime, and utilization metrics.

Provide leadership with actionable insights to support operational decision-making.

Manage and optimize anesthesia scheduling systems and tools (e.g., QGenda, AMiON, or equivalent).

Ensure data accuracy, user training, and system updates to support operational needs.

Partner with IT and operations teams to implement system enhancements or integrations as well as Power BI dashboards.

Schedule staff and allocate resources across hours of operation to maximize patient access and satisfaction, provider productivity and efficiency, staff productivity, cost-savings, and operational efficiencies.

Conduct supply purchasing via the Group’s on-line ordering and shopping list system within specified budget.

Report monthly productivity results to providers and staff.

Ensure accuracy of all data collection and data entry by site staff through training and compliance monitoring and facilitate and oversee flow of information to and from NMG’s Central Office.

Conduct timely and accurate cash management duties, including overseeing the collection of co-pays and patient balances and processing of clean super bill batches, in-house cash balances, and bank deposits in order to influence profitability.

Serve as an active participant in corporate committees and task forces.

Provide financial analysis to facilitate planning and cash flow management and review variance explanations.

Communicate budget and variance information to professional staff.

Gain comprehensive understanding of individual job functions for purposes of identifying training and developmental opportunities.

Identify and communicate priorities, timelines and accountabilities to ensure efficient use of resources and to promote and open and productive work environment.

Work with senior management to define performance goals for team and interface with staff to monitor progress, manage disciplinary issues and provide ongoing feedback.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelors Degree

2 years health care experience

Experience working within a clinical environment

Outpatient setting experience

Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills

Excellent analytical skills.

Preferred:

Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Health Administration (MHA)

Academic medical center health care experience

Minimum requirements
