Schwab Asset Management (SAM) is a leading asset manager focused on delivering investment solutions across mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and separately managed accounts (SMAs). The Valuation Oversight team plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of fund pricing and valuation practices, helping ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while supporting sound investment governance.

Through close partnership with portfolio management, trading, fund accounting, technology, and risk functions, the team helps protect shareholder interests and strengthen operational excellence across the business.

As a Senior Manager, Valuation Oversight, you will provide strategic oversight of third-party fund administration and pricing service providers, ensuring securities are valued in accordance with established valuation policies, regulatory standards, and governance requirements. You will lead complex valuation reviews, support fair value determinations, and influence key decisions through analytical insights, risk assessment, and collaboration with senior stakeholders.

This role offers the opportunity to drive process innovation, enhance operational efficiency through automation and emerging technologies, and shape valuation methodologies for traditional and evolving asset classes. What you have

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

8+ years of experience in financial services, asset management, fund operations, valuation oversight, fund accounting, or related investment operations environments

Strong knowledge of valuation and regulatory frameworks, including ASC 820, Rule 2a-5, GAAP, and the Investment Company Act of 1940

Experience supporting the valuation of multiple asset classes, including equities, fixed income securities, private investments, derivatives, and other complex investments

Demonstrated ability to oversee critical operational processes, evaluate risk, and make sound business decisions in a highly regulated environment

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex valuation matters and recommend appropriate courses of action

Experience leading cross-functional initiatives, managing competing priorities, and driving process improvements

Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting information to governance committees, senior leadership, or similar stakeholder groups

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating across diverse teams and business functions

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Bloomberg Terminal

Experience with mutual funds, ETFs, and separately managed accounts (SMAs)

Experience developing or evaluating valuation methodologies for alternative investments, including private equity, private credit, or digital assets

Experience managing vendor relationships and third-party service provider oversight

Experience with Microsoft Copilot or other AI-enabled productivity tools

Experience with Eagle Pricing Center or similar exception-based price validation platforms

Experience using Alteryx or other data analytics and process automation tools

Knowledge of operational efficiency, workflow automation, and continuous improvement methodologies

CFA, CPA, or progress toward an advanced professional certification
