North America CFO, Reinsurance Solutions
The Chief Financial Officer will act as the senior finance partner for Aon’s Reinsurance North America (US, Canada and Caribbean) leadership team, holding full responsibility for financial strategy, performance management, capital allocation, and decision support throughout the North America Reinsurance business. The role plays a crucial part in driving principled growth, margin expansion, and returns, while ensuring rigorous financial governance in a sophisticated, and market‑sensitive business.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer Reinsurance, the CFO, Reinsurance North America will bring strong strategic judgment, deep financial acumen, and executive presence. The role requires a leader who can operate at both altitude and detail—translating market dynamics, portfolio decisions, and capital deployment into clear, actionable financial insights for senior leadership.

What the day will look like
Strategic Finance & Decision Support
Act as the primary finance advisor to the leadership team of North American Reinsurance, providing clear, actionable insights on growth, profitability, and capital deployment.
Lead financial input into the North American reinsurance operating plan and long‑range business planning, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives and return thresholds.
Evaluate critical initiatives, including organic investments, talent deployment, pricing and portfolio mix, and M&A, with a focus on return on investment, return on invested capital, and value creation.
Provide forward‑looking analysis on market cycles (hard, soft, and transitional markets), pricing trends, capacity dynamics, and client segment profitability.
Performance Management & Analytics
Own financial performance management for the reinsurance operations in North America, including monthly results, forecasts, and variance analysis.
Establish and refine leading and lagging critical metrics that predict performance and enable early course correction.
Drive deeper portfolio‑level analytics across products, client segments, and capital solutions.
Translate sophisticated financial data into concise, executive‑ready materials for senior management.
Capital Allocation & Financial Governance
Partner with Corporate Planning, Treasury, and Controllership on capital allocation decisions, including investment prioritization, expense discipline, and balance sheet considerations.
Ensure strong financial controls, governance, and compliance throughout the North American reinsurance finance division.
Support disciplined execution against approved arguments, with clear accountability and transparency on delivery versus plan.
Leadership & Collaboration
Lead and develop a high-performing finance team within the North American reinsurance sector, encouraging strong engagement, accountability, and talent development.
Partner closely with Regional CFOs, Solution Line finance leaders, Strategy, ABS, and other enterprise functions to ensure consistency of data, insights, and execution.
Serve as a trusted thought partner to senior leaders, balancing challenge and support within a cross-functional organization.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience in sophisticated, global organizations.
Strong background in strategic finance, FP&A, performance management, and capital allocation.
Proven experience supporting senior business leaders in dynamic, cyclical, or financial services environments; experience in insurance, reinsurance, or capital markets is strongly preferred.
Proven ability to lead teams, influence across a matrix, and operate effectively at the executive level.
Deep financial modeling and analytical expertise, including assessment of profitability against capital employed, valuation, and scenario planning.
Solid understanding of accounting, cash management, tax, and financial controls.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA, CFA, or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

Pay Transparency Laws:
The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $180,000 to $230,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plan in addition to base salary. The amount of any [bonus] [production incentives] varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
