We're looking for a Director, Strategic Engagement to join our North America team. This role plays an important part in expanding client relationships, supporting business growth, and connecting clients with the expertise and resources needed to achieve their goals.
What You'll Do
Build Client Relationships & Grow Business
Develop and strengthen relationships with senior leaders across the insurance sector.
Identify client priorities, identify areas for growth, and help shape advisory engagements that address pressing business challenges.
Support business development efforts that expand Aon Inpoint's presence and client results across North America.
Participate in commercial discussions, proposal development, contract negotiations, and engagement planning activities.
Deliver Strategic Insight
Apply market research, industry knowledge, analytics, and Aon's global capabilities to help clients navigatechanging market conditions.
Provide business advice that helps clients improve performance, manage risk, and pursue growth opportunities.
Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging industry developments to inform recommendations.
Support Key Initiatives
Partner with NFP Broking leadership and Aon colleagues to support integration activities, expand collaboration, and identify opportunities across both organizations.
Lead complex client engagements and cross-functional initiatives, coordinating resources, timelines, and priorities to achieve desired results.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance service delivery, and create a stronger client experience.
Lead & Develop Talent
Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team environment where colleagues can learn, develop, and grow.
Provide coaching, feedback, and support to help team members strengthen their capabilities and achieve their goals.
Help attract, develop, and retain strong talent across the business.
What We're Looking For
15+ years of experience in the insurance industry, primarily in carrier-facing roles.
Experience in broking, consulting, advisory, engagement, or other client-facing strategic leadership environments.
Track record of developing executive-level relationships and generating new business opportunities.
Strong understanding of insurance market dynamics, carrier operations, and industry challenges.
Experience leading projects, managing competing priorities, and working across multiple stakeholder groups.
Exceptional communication, relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing skills.
Experience developing talent and leading high-performing teams.
Ability to analyze business issues, evaluate risk, and translate insights into practical recommendations.
Strong judgment, problem-solving ability, and organizational leadership skills.
Willingness to travel approximately 20%.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Advanced degree preferred.
Experience working within large, matrixed organizations.
Experience using CRM platforms to manage client relationships and business development activities.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $200,000 - $270,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.

Minimum requirements
- 15+ years insurance industry experience, primarily in carrier-facing roles with strategic leadership in broking, consulting, or advisory.
- Proven ability to develop executive relationships, lead projects, manage priorities, and generate new business.
- Strong communication, negotiation, leadership skills, and willingness to travel ~20%.
