About the team You’ll join Zillow’s Accounting team within our broader Finance organization, where accuracy, integrity, and thoughtful partnership help power confident decision-making across the business. This team manages complex operational accounting activities, supports timely and compliant financial reporting, and works closely with Finance and cross-functional partners to strengthen processes and solve problems. About the role The Accounting Manager - Financial Products & Services applies advanced accounting knowledge to manage complex operational activities, ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and support timely, compliant reporting. This role partners closely with Finance and cross-functional teams to improve processes, resolve issues, and provide insights that help leaders make sound business decisions.
You will get to Lead the preparation, review, and analysis of complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and schedules to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial results. Interpret and apply relevant accounting guidance to new or unusual transactions, advising stakeholders on appropriate treatment and documenting conclusions for audit support. Coordinate month-end and quarter-end close activities for assigned areas, identifying root causes of variances, resolving discrepancies, and recommending process improvements.
Develop, maintain, and enhance standard operating procedures, controls, and documentation for key accounting processes to support compliance and audit readiness. Collaborate with Finance, Tax, Treasury, and business partners to provide accounting insights, answer operational questions, and support initiatives that impact the general ledger. Analyze trends and key drivers in assigned accounts, preparing clear summaries and explanations for management reviews and internal reporting.
Support system and process changes (such as new tools, integrations, or workflows) by defining accounting requirements, testing outcomes, and validating data integrity. This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.
In California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $103,200.00 - $164,800.00 annually. This base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations. In Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Virginia the standard base pay range for this role is $98,000.00 - $156,600.00 annually. The base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.
In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. Employees in this role will not be paid below the salary threshold for exempt employees in the state where they reside. Who you are Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. 8+ years of professional accounting experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or a related finance role.
Active CPA license (strongly preferred), with a foundation in public accounting and strong technical accounting knowledge. Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Google Gemini in accounting and/or Finance environments Experience performing and reviewing complex reconciliations, period-end close activities, and variance analysis in a high-volume or multi-entity environment. Experience working with modern ERP or financial systems and spreadsheet tools to manage data and improve accounting workflows. Prior experience in public accounting as an auditor is a plus.

Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field with 8+ years of professional accounting experience.
