Experienced Consultant, Organization, People & Change
About the role
Are you ready to make an impact?
West Monroe is seeking an Experienced Consultant with current consulting experience to join our Organization, People, and Change (OPC) practice. West Monroe’s Organization, People, and Change practice accelerates value and business outcomes of transformations, transactions, and implementations through people, HR, and change strategies.
For this opening, we are looking for someone with a proven track record supporting client engagements across our organizational design and workforce strategy offerings, focused on achieving measurable business results by using digital tools, analytics, and benchmarks to improve organizational structures, culture, talent strategies, and supporting organizations in their journey to become a skills-based organization.
What you’ll do
Serve on client delivery teams, own defined analyses and deliverables and take increasing responsibility for developing practical solutions with guidance from senior team members.
Support functional workstream planning and execution by collaborating with team members and learning the client’s business, operating model, and industry context, including how work gets done across key activities, processes, handoffs, roles and systems.
Connect business priorities and performance goals to operating model and workforce choices, what work needs to be done, who should own it, and what roles, skills and capacity are needed.
Deliver workforce and talent analytics by combining people data, such as headcount, skills, capacity, and workforce costs, with operational and financial data, including but limited to P&L information, to identify trends, develop insights, and inform workforce recommendations.
Prepare for and conduct client interviews; use findings to understand how processes, activities, handoffs, roles, and skills fit together and what implementation will require.
Map how work and decisions move across teams, noting handoffs, dependencies and unclear ownership; where appropriate, support tests of proposed changes, track results, gather feedback from people doing the work, and use feedback to refine recommendations.
Develop analyses, recommendations, and deliverables within assigned areas of work; this includes but is not limited to appropriately managing deadlines, checking analyses for accuracy, and flagging missing information and risks to senior team members early.
Contribute to practical work and workforce transformation implementation planning by identifying implications for roles, skills, workforce deployment, and change.
Develop client-ready deck storylines, key messages, and findings, and effectively present insights to client stakeholders.
Use AI and digital tools to accelerate work and workforce analyses; draw on prior experience and creative thinking to enhance existing tools or develop digital solutions that drive practice productivity and innovation.
Participate in the development and enhancement of Organization, People & Change methodologies, tools, and other collateral.
Identify and raise potential farming opportunities to project managers and practice leadership, and monitor opportunity status to establish appropriate follow-up timing.
What you’ll bring
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
1–3 years of relevant operating model, organization design, and/or organizational effectiveness experience; client service and/or advisory experience strongly preferred.
Experience contributing to or independently executing defined areas of work on operating model and organization design projects, with direction and oversight from senior team members.
Relevant experience may include enterprise and/or functional operating models, organization design, job architecture, role design, workforce deployment strategies, skills assessments, and learning and development design.
Experience delivering workforce or talent analytics, including analyzing people data, identifying trends and implications, and translating findings into clear insights for decision-making.
Ability to connect business objectives and operating needs to operating model and workforce design choices, including how processes, activities, handoffs, roles and skills fit together and what implementation will require.
Working understanding of financial and P&L drivers, with the ability to connect workforce choices to labor costs, operating expenses, and business performance.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create impactful, concise, executive-ready deliverables and communicate effectively with client stakeholders.
Strong data analysis and visualization skills; comfortable using tools like Excel to analyze financial, operational, and people data and present insights that connect workforce transformation to business objectives.
High learning agility with a demonstrated interest in identifying opportunities and crafting bespoke, AI-native solutions to solve client problems
