Job overview and responsibilities
The role of a Scrum master is a pivotal role in guiding Agile teams to deliver high-quality, business-critical products. Your responsibilities will include facilitating Agile ceremonies, identifying and removing impediments, and coaching both the team and stakeholders on Agile principles and practices. You will be instrumental in cultivating a culture of continuous improvement, empowering teams, and fostering seamless cross-functional collaboration.
Impediment and Dependency Management
Proactively identify and track impediments, dependencies and delivery risks, ensuring each has a clear owner and next step.
Coordinate with partner teams to resolve issues and follow through to closure.
Escalate promptly when issues exceed the team’s ability to resolve them, communicating the impact, actions taken and support needed.
Team Coaching and Accountability
Coach teams, Product Owners and stakeholders on Agile practices, collaboration and shared accountability.
Help teams establish and uphold working agreements, including readiness for planning, timely responses and follow-through on commitments.
Facilitate constructive conversations about missed commitments, recurring process gaps and conflicting expectations.
Help teams become increasingly self-sufficient through clear working agreements, shared ownership and effective knowledge transfer.
Drive follow-through on retrospective actions and assess whether they improve team outcomes.
Delivery Transparency
Help teams track progress against sprint goals and release plans, making risks and changes visible early.
Partner with Product Owners, engineering leads and quality engineering to clarify dependencies, sequencing and readiness for delivery.
Use metrics such as cycle time, work in progress and sprint goal achievement to identify bottlenecks and improve predictability.
Support delivery coordination while maintaining clear ownership of product priorities, technical decisions and testing responsibilities.
Stakeholder Communication
Provide concise, accurate updates on progress, risks, dependencies and changes to delivery expectations.
Facilitate discussions that produce clear decisions, action owners and next steps.
Confirm shared understanding across technical teams, business stakeholders and leadership.
Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
Bachelor's degree
Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or related field preferred
4+ years of experience in Product Management or Business Analysis, with a proven track record of partnering with technical teams to deliver complex technology solutions.
Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and other Agile frameworks
Experience working with Agile project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps
Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills
Ability to lead by example, demonstrating strong servant leadership and a focus on team empowerment
Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional Agile environment, with a strong focus on delivering value
Ability to manage and resolve conflict effectively, keeping the team focused on achieving sprint goals
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple teams or projects concurrently
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
Master's degree
Agile certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or SAFe Agilist (SA) highly desirable
Experience as a scrum master, agile coach, or in a similar role within an Agile environment
Experience in an environment involving DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, or cloud-based application delivery
Familiarity with Agile frameworks
Exposure to Agile transformations and change management
Background in software development or technical project delivery is a plus
The base pay range for this role is $112,480.00 to $146,540.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 4+ years in Product Management or Business Analysis with technical team collaboration
- Strong knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, Agile tools (Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps), and excellent communication skills
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and successful interview completion
