About the role

The Strategic Account Liaison (SAL) is a field-based role responsible for supporting the launch and ongoing growth of Otsuka’s Rare Neurology Franchise. As a SAL, your main role will be to effectively communicate complex clinical data, protocols, screening and treatment pathways, market access policies, as well as access to therapy and patient support program information to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) Centers of Excellence, health care providers, and key non-clinical stakeholders.

The SAL will drive performance, while collaborating with cross-functional partners and external customers to support optimal patient care and to advance Otsuka’s goals. The immediate focus of the role will be to launch and market a treatment for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) known as FUS-ALS, caused by mutations in the fused in sarcoma (FUS) gene. RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLS SETS REQUIRED: Clinical Acumen/Customer Engagement Experience Experience in understanding complex disease states, and ability to quickly learn and articulate complex clinical data and outcomes Educate on disease state awareness, educate on screening and diagnostic pathways, while instilling urgency to prioritize and treat appropriate patients Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with HCPs and Key Opinion Leaders, demonstrating a robust clinical acumen and regarded as a credible resource Create positive prescribing experience through clear articulation and

diligent pull through of Otsuka access and patient support programs Participate in conferences, congresses, and other scientific meetings to educate on rare neurology disease state(s) and treatment(s) Strategic Account Management/Business Acumen Experience developing strategic account plans by mining and connecting insights from diverse data sources, customer feedback, and market intelligence to drive regional strategy and execution.

Navigate and engage with key stakeholders within ALS Centers of Excellence to understand roles and responsibilities, obtain key contacts, capture and document process flows, and engage accordingly to pull through Otsuka’s key objectives Navigate complex treatment logistics, including site of care considerations, patient onboarding, and therapy initiation barriers.

Experience with hospital purchasing, coding, reimbursement procedures and ability to uncover and follow process flows within a given account, while effectively articulating access specifics and partner closely with Market Access and Patient Support to compliantly remove barriers to therapy.

Market Development Experience with products/disease states where the patient journey involves many physicians, specialties, and sites of care prior to a definitive diagnosis Ability to thrive without a highly prescriptive operating model to identify, validate, and document an understating of local referral networks, including primary treaters, secondary treaters, and referral patterns for ALS Ability to map the patient journey, identifying barriers to earlier recognition, specialist referral, genetic testing, genetic counseling and connection to treatment-capable centers, along with

formulating solutions and relationships to address those gaps Collaboration and Teamwork Partner with cross-functional teammates, such as Thought Leads Liaisons, Medical Science Liaisons, Case Managers, Leadership, etc.

to understand and address the unique needs of customers and patients, ensuring the customer experience is held to the highest standards Proactively engages with others, supports healthy discussions, reads others’ emotions, adjusts communication and approach, to drive alignment and advance business objectives Demonstrate tenacity and innovative thinking, while collaboratively driving consensus amongst stakeholders Leverage Otsuka platforms and technology to share account contact information, document IDN process flows, and community referral patterns Training Enthusiastically engage in

meetings and training programs to understand brand strategy, messaging, disease state, and customer engagement tactics to then effectively implement in assigned region of responsibility Certify on approved clinical resources, messaging, business acumen trainings, compliance and Otsuka’s policies, and all applicable HCP and patient engagement policies QUALIFICATIONS Valid U.S.

driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards Bachelor’s Degree Preferred 10+ (minimum 8) years of experience in Biotech/Pharma commercial field strategic roles across the following competencies:  Experience in new product launches Center of Excellence and IDN Navigation, including KOL engagment Rare and/or Ultra-Rare Disease experience Cross-functional field team coordination Background in rare neurology, CAR-T, Gene Therapy account management strongly preferred Advanced clinical degrees prioritized (BSN, RN, etc.) but not required Proven track record of success

as demonstrated by consistent high ranking (Top 30%) over minimum 2+ years, achievement awards, etc. Must reside in Region Competencies Accountability for Results - Stay focused on key strategic objectives, be accountable for high standards of performance, and take an active role in leading change.
