The Coupa Risk Assess (CRA) Application Owner is responsible for the strategic ownership, administration, support, and continuous improvement of Northern Trust's third-party risk management platform.
This role serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, technology teams, and external vendors to ensure the platform effectively supports supplier risk management, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and enterprise reporting requirements. The Application Owner leads platform enhancements, oversees integrations with Coupa Core, ZIP, Azure Data Lake, and other enterprise systems, manages application governance and data quality, and provides subject matter expertise to support business objectives and technology strategy.
Major Duties Own and support the Coupa Risk Assess (CRA) platform, ensuring alignment with Procurement, TPMO, Risk, Compliance, and business objectives. Manage application configuration, business processes, workflows, questionnaires, risk models, reporting, and user access controls. Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize enhancements, and implement solutions that improve operational effectiveness and user experience.
Lead application change management activities including requirements definition, testing, release management, user acceptance testing (UAT), and production deployments. Monitor application health, data quality, integrations, and production support activities; coordinate issue resolution with internal technology teams and external vendors. Oversee key integrations between CRA and related platforms, including Coupa Core, ZIP, Azure Data Lake, reporting solutions, and other enterprise systems.
Support regulatory, audit, compliance, and third-party risk management requirements through effective platform governance, controls, and reporting. Develop and maintain operational metrics, dashboards, and reporting to support business decision-making and management oversight. Maintain application documentation, procedures, training materials, and knowledge resources. Serve as the primary business relationship manager for the CRA platform, working closely with vendors and internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and adoption.
Provide subject matter expertise in third-party risk management processes, supplier risk management, procurement technology, and related business capabilities. Interact with business partners and technology teams to formulate and implement strategies and solutions that enhance services, improve processes, and support business objectives. Knowledge Strong knowledge of third-party risk management, supplier risk management, procurement operations, and related regulatory requirements.
Experience with SaaS platform administration, application ownership, business process design, reporting, data governance, and system integrations. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Experience with Coupa Risk Assess, Coupa Core, ZIP, Azure DevOps, Power BI, ServiceNow, and Microsoft 365 tools preferred.
Experience Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Risk Management, or related field and six or more years of relevant experience in application ownership, procurement technology, third-party risk management, business systems analysis, or related disciplines. Experience with Coupa platforms, SaaS applications, systems integrations, and Agile delivery methodologies preferred. Professional certifications such as PMP, CPSM, CSCP, Agile Product Owner, or equivalent are a plus.
Salary Range: $83,100 - 141,300 USD Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits.
