Department Overview You will join the Language & Audio group where you will be leading machine learning engineering of our Large Language Models and their harnesses. Your work will impact all aspects of the machine learning cycle, from data curation to model training to deployment to monitoring and feedback, and will likewise improve the effectiveness of first responders and other public safety personnel.

Application areas include natural language processing, summarization, and search over enterprise and public-safety data, redaction, video transcription and case file management, and chat-based interfaces and LLM-enhanced user experiences. You will work with infrastructure engineers and research scientists to build machine learning products that are informative and responsive, leveraging your collaboration skills as you work with a team to develop reusable components, enabling cooperation between research units and production engineers.

Job Description We are seeking an AI Manager Language Models to guide the development and deployment of Large Language Model (LLM) machine learning solutions. In this role, you will bridge AI research and production engineering building reliable ML systems with an immediate focus on public safety application areas, including emergency 911 call handling, dispatch automation, and case management.

You will support a collaborative team across the complete ML lifecycle, transforming state-of-the-art language technology into dependable, real-world solutions that assist first responders and safety professionals in public and enterprise settings. Responsibilities Lead the development of large language model driven machine learning solutions Work across all stages of the machine learning lifecycle, including data curation, model training, deployment, monitoring, evaluation, and feedback.

Apply your knowledge to public safety application areas such as 911 call handling, dispatch, and case management, and enterprise applications in retail, commercial security, and infrastructure management Collaborate with infrastructure engineers and research scientists to build scalable machine learning products Create reusable components to support integration between research teams and production engineering Required Skills 8+ years of combined experience as a machine learning researcher and/or a post-graduate degree in a quantitative science or engineering Including 2+ years of direct

management experience leading technical teams.

Previous experience managing an LLM-based solution from inception to market Previous experience managing cloud-based software engineering Strong written and oral communication skills in English Desired Skills Experience developing software for public safety (police, fire, paramedic and other first responders) or enterprise (retail, farming, heavy industry) Experience managing engineers and researchers, and working horizontally with UI/UX and product management Experience incorporating UX guidance in LLM-driven design patterns, test patterns and training methodologies Knowledgeable of Machine

Learning fundamentals and best practices Target Base Salary Range: $240,000 USD - $265,000 USD Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate. Note: Candidate can reside anywhere in the US.
