What We’re Looking For:

Michael Baker International is seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager to join the Environmental team in our Moon Township (Pittsburgh), PA office. The successful candidate will plan, direct, and coordinate activities of designated projects to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame, funding parameters, and quality objectives.

What You’ll Do:

Review project proposals or plans to determine scope, time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project work, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project

Establish work plans and staffing for each phase of the project and arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel

Develop and implement project plans and methodologies for complex projects, including both single-discipline and multi-discipline efforts

Confer with project staff to outline work plans and assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority; manage project resources effectively

Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progress remains on schedule and within prescribed budget

Perform analysis of project management development and success to align with company goals and strategies

Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as required

Prepare project reports for management, clients, and others, and perform cost management analysis

Develop and maintain client engagement to ensure satisfaction

Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems

Perform other duties as assigned

What You Need to Succeed:

Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering

10-15 years of related experience

Licensed as either a Professional Geologist or Professional Engineer

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders

Creative thinker with strong conceptual problem-solving abilities

Proven ability to build and maintain trusted client relationships

Adaptable and effective in managing change within dynamic environments

Strong negotiation and decision-making skills

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Ability to walk over uneven terrain for extended portions of the workday in all weather conditions

Ability to work in industrial environments

Ability to wear required PPE including hard hat, hearing protection, eye protection, and other safety equipment as needed

Participation in a health monitoring program, use of appropriate PPE, and hazard mitigation planning as required

Compensation:

The approximate compensation range for this position $109,179 - $170,507 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
