What You’ll Do:

Collaborate with learning scientists and data scientists to identify opportunities for metadata inference, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.
Help develop and maintain documentation describing metadata models, standards, and use cases for product and design teams.
Use data tools such as spreadsheets, database queries, and programming or scripting languages to analyze complex metadata requirements, explore internal and external metadata use cases, and recommend enhancements.
Support metadata quality, consistency, discoverability, and interoperability across content, platforms, and learning experiences.
We’re looking for someone with:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in education, learning sciences, information science, or a related field.
5+ years of professional experience in education, educational publishing, learning design, metadata, or a related area.
At least 2 years of direct experience working with learning objectives, competencies, standards, or related metadata, ideally in personalized or adaptive learning contexts.
Experience with higher education content, including digital courseware, e-books, assessments, or related instructional materials.
Knowledge of metadata concepts such as taxonomies, ontologies, controlled vocabularies, tagging, and other content classification.
Growth mindset and open to change, with a positive attitude and interest in improving over time.
Self-motivated and well-organized; able to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with metadata platforms, frameworks, or workflows used in multiple higher education contexts.
