Job Description: Role Purpose & Overview The Sr. Director Strategic Business Communications – Digital Technologies is the dedicated communications advisor to a Mars Snacking Leadership Team (MSLT) member and the Snacking DT Leadership Team. Embedded in the business, the role connects strategic internal communications, executive visibility, and reputation to support business goals and growth. The partner brings strong transformation fluency—connecting strategy, change, and communications so priority programs are understood, embraced, and translated into new capabilities and ways of working.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities Strategic Counsel & Communications Serve as a senior business partner to the CDIO and Snacking DT Leadership Team, helping shape digital strategy and business decisions from the start. Advise on priorities, timing, and what decisions mean for stakeholders, communications, and reputation. Develop the communications and engagement strategy that embeds the digital strategy across the company’s transformation and integration work.

Connect DT workstreams and help senior sponsors agree on a shared story, how the work fits together, and the outcomes to achieve—turning strategy into leadership commitments, Associate behaviors, and ways of working across functions and markets. Partner with DT leaders and cross-functional teams to engage Associates around business objectives, growth priorities, and results. Shape the approach to key internal and external moments, choosing the right channels, timing, and stories.

Make complex digital priorities clear through compelling content and real examples that show progress and impact, bring functions and markets together, and connect segment goals with the enterprise digital strategy. Executive & Leadership Visibility Define the executive positioning and leadership engagement strategy for the CDIO, connecting the strategy with DT’s business, transformation, and integration priorities; establish the leadership narrative, stakeholder priorities, and desired outcomes that guide reputation building efforts.

Shape the long-term thought leadership agenda with the CDIO, using business priorities, stakeholder insights, and digital trends to choose where Mars Snacking should lead the conversation on technology, data and analytics, and AI. Develop content and materials to support primarily the CDIO on leadership engagement, including town halls, leadership meetings, leader messages, Q&A, video scripts, presentations, and intranet articles; equip next-level leaders with aligned materials.

Support executive readiness and presence through messaging development, panel preparation, and leadership briefing materials. Partner with External Communications on media relations and issues management, connecting executive visibility to business and reputation goals. Transformation & Change Enablement In partnership with the transformation communications team, lead priority digital transformation programs, building understanding, readiness, and commitment to new capabilities and ways of working.

Embed communications in transformation and change plans from the outset, aligned to business impacts, milestones, and audience needs. Equip leaders and markets with narratives, tools, and feedback loops that address barriers, reinforce accountability, and accelerate adoption. Measurement & Continuous Improvement Set communications objectives tied to digital priorities, measuring understanding, engagement, leadership effectiveness, readiness, and adoption. Combine analytics, feedback, and business signals to identify gaps and continuously improve strategy, content, and channel performance.

Prioritize and manage agency, creative, multimedia, and freelance support against the highest-value outcomes. Context & Scope To fulfill the requirements of this role, you will work closely with senior leaders and cross-functional colleagues across DT, Integration and Corporate Affairs. You’ll operate as a trusted advisor within a diverse, global communications community—balancing strategic counsel with hands-on execution in a complex, matrixed environment.
