What You’ll Do
Ready to turn complex real estate data into insights that shape strategic portfolio decisions?
As a Senior Real Estate Analyst, you’ll join the Real Estate Department in Chicago and partner with senior real estate leaders and Finance colleagues to deliver portfolio analytics, maintain accurate lease data, support transactions, and strengthen systems and processes. You’ll also use approved artificial intelligence (AI) and automation tools to make reporting and lease-data management faster, more accurate, and more insightful. This role offers an opportunity to influence how the Firm understands and manages its real estate portfolio.
The schedule for this position is:
- In-office at least three days per week
- Turn data into decisions: Prepare financial analyses, market research, executive reports, dashboards, reconciliations, and supporting materials for portfolio and transaction decisions.
- Analyze portfolio performance: Evaluate leases, occupancy, utilization, and portfolio trends while building financial models for renewals, relocations, lease alternatives, and occupancy-cost scenarios.
- Manage lease information: Maintain lease abstracts, critical dates, rent schedules, portfolio databases, and supporting documentation with a strong focus on accuracy and completeness.
- Support financial controls: Review operating expenses, real estate tax reconciliations, billing, and lease-related invoices; provide reliable lease data for accounting, audit, tax, and risk-management needs.
- Advance real estate transactions: Coordinate due diligence, documentation, schedules, and information gathering while preparing summaries and maintaining internal transaction trackers.
- Improve systems and processes: Support Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) administration, data-integrity initiatives, process documentation, budgeting, forecasting, and the development of new real estate playbooks.
- Collaborate across the organization: Work with Finance, Information Technology (IT), Facilities, and other stakeholders to strengthen data standards, reporting, and real estate systems.
- AI Fluency: Apply Firm-approved tools such as Microsoft Copilot to accelerate lease abstraction, research, reconciliations, data validation, and report drafting, carefully validating all AI-generated output before use.
- Explore new capabilities: Identify opportunities to automate recurring workflows, develop effective prompts and templates, and recommend practical AI features that support reporting and lease administration while following confidentiality, information-security, and responsible-use policies.
What You’ll Bring
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, accounting, or a related field.
- Relevant experience: Three to five years of corporate real estate, lease administration, or portfolio analytics experience. Corporate real estate portfolio experience is required; residential real estate experience is not considered relevant for this role.
- Lease and transaction knowledge: Experience reviewing commercial lease documents and supporting real estate transactions through due diligence and transaction documentation.
- Analytical capability: Strong financial-modeling skills and an understanding of occupancy, space-utilization, and portfolio-performance metrics.
- Real estate technology: Experience with IWMS, lease-administration, Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM), or space-scheduling platforms.
- Business tools: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling, along with strong Microsoft PowerPoint capabilities; experience with Power BI or Tableau is preferred.
- AI fluency: Experience using tools such as Microsoft Copilot to improve analysis, reporting, or workflow efficiency, including writing effective prompts and critically evaluating AI-generated output.
- Ownership and organization: The ability to manage competing priorities, maintain close attention to detail, improve processes, adopt new technology, and take responsibility for high-quality results.
- Communication and collaboration: Clear written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to build effective working relationships across functions and organizational levels.
If you’re excited to combine real estate expertise, financial analysis, and emerging technology to strengthen a complex portfolio, we’d love to hear from you for the Senior Real Estate Analyst opportunity!
