About the Role KBR is seeking an Enterprise Application Support Technician to join our Corporate Enterprise Systems Team (EST).
This role serves as the primary front-line technical support and queue manager for KBR’s core financial and operational systems, including Deltek Costpoint, RFgen, Bloomberg Tax, the Costpoint Content Management Interface (CMI), and remote access environments. Serving as the critical first line of defense for the EST - Technical team, this role investigates application errors and ensures system reliability. Because our operational ticket volume is highly controlled, this position offers a unique runway for aggressive skill development.
The successful candidate will not only manage the support queue but will actively cross-train with Senior System Administrators and Solution Architects, assisting with data integration diagnostics, ERP cloud readiness testing, and enterprise system upgrades. This role is explicitly designed as a growth vector into either dedicated Enterprise Application Administration or System Architecture.
Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary technical support contact and ticket queue manager for the EST - Technical team, overseeing tier-2/tier-3 escalations for Costpoint, RFgen, Bloomberg Tax, and related applications. Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application-level issues, security/access requests, and routine system errors. Perform root cause analysis on operational problems, effectively isolating issues between network, database, and application layers before escalating to senior engineering teams.
Monitor interface health, scheduled system jobs, and automated data pipelines to proactively identify failures. Assist the architecture and administration teams with enterprise application upgrades, SaaS readiness initiatives, and system release management. Execute and validate system testing routines during mandated quarterly ERP upgrades and configuration changes. Partner with developers and infrastructure teams to support the deployment of technology-driven solutions, custom integrations, and workflow automations.
Maintain and update operational runbooks, system configurations, troubleshooting guides, and user access provisioning documentation. Ensure all access and system modifications comply with strict organizational security standards, audit controls, and compliance boundaries. Actively train in advanced system administration (server lifecycle, infrastructure scaling) or solution architecture (API integration, data parsing, custom development) to support team redundancy and career progression.
Basic Qualifications BA/BS or working towards a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or equivalent technical experience. 2+ years of experience in IT support, application administration, or a related highly-technical support role. Demonstrated, logical troubleshooting skills with the ability to isolate and diagnose complex software or system integration issues. Experience supporting enterprise-grade applications, ERP systems (Deltek Costpoint highly preferred), or complex financial / ERP software.
Foundational understanding of data structures, basic SQL querying, or API/interface concepts. Familiarity with system access troubleshooting. Ability to ruthlessly prioritize operational support tasks alongside long-term project work and self-guided learning. Strong technical communication skills, capable of translating end-user symptoms into precise diagnostic data for senior engineering teams. Must be a U.S. citizen.
