Compensation

The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $163,800.00 – $273,000.00. This role is eligible for an incentive target of up to 25%, based on the achievement of individual and company performance objectives in accordance with the current terms of the incentive program which are subject to change.

Position Details

You will lead multiple product domains related to Grainger’s supply chain which may include DC and Branch operations, inventory planning, network design, and transportation. Your success will depend on creating a shared vision across Grainger teams and leadership, developing technology solutions to achieve long-term business and customer outcomes, and coordinating seamless integration and rollout for technology partners, operational teams, and customers. You will report to Group Product Manager.

Work Location:

The work location will be in the Chicago Merchandise Mart or our HQ in Lake Forest, IL on a hybrid basis; 2 days per week. We will also consider candidates seeking relocation to the Chicago area. This is not a remote position.

You Will:

Define domain-level product strategy across multiple product teams, aligned to enterprise goals and customer value.

Oversee domain performance, investment decisions and levels, and outcome measurement to maximize business impact. Ensures rigor and transparency in OKRs and operational metrics, and drives accountability across leaders

Communicate complex tradeoffs and difficult decisions clearly and story-tell credibly, shaping executive understanding and alignment through compelling, data-driven product narratives.

Ensure customer insight and experience are central to user-focused product strategy and investment decisions, balancing qualitative research with a data-first mindset.

Encourage innovative thinking and explore new models, technologies, and approaches to drive growth.

Win as one team building strong partnerships across product, engineering, design, ML, analytics and business leadership.

Drive focus and momentum across the domain while managing strategic risks. Be a subject-matter expert for trends in the industry, advanced technology, and quickly identify ways Grainger can win leveraging this knowledge.

Recruit, develop, and lead high-performing product management teams that elevate the broader product organization.

You Have:

A Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, science, math, or related field or equivalent experience required

10+ years product management or related leadership experience is required

Proven success leading product domains and organizations at scale

Strong strategic, financial, and business acumen

Direct Leadership experience with building and developing high-performing teams

Executive-level communication and influence skills

Ability to operate effectively in complex, matrixed organizations

Track record of delivering measurable business and customer outcomes

Preferred:

Product management leadership experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse, fulfillment, transportation, or inventory domains.

Experience leading large-scale technology and operational transformations across complex physical networks and matrixed organizations.

Demonstrated success building multi-year product strategies and managing significant product investment portfolios tied to measurable business outcomes.

Experience leading organizations that leverage advanced analytics, optimization, AI/ML, and automation to improve operational performance.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, science, math, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of product management or related leadership experience with proven success leading product domains at scale
  • Direct leadership experience building and developing high-performing teams with strong strategic, financial, and business acumen
