About the role
Job Description: We are looking for a detail-oriented, strategic, and technically minded Director for our Retail Media Operations team to lead business and self-service operations of a retail media network. This position acts as a subject matter expert for internal stakeholders and client partners and serves as a key point of contact for cross-functional disciplines (Strategy, Creative, Media, Analytics, etc). They’re responsible for the development and management of frameworks to steer and monitor self-service program progress and success.
· You will report to the Group Director, Retail Media.
Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day self-service retail media operations, including: Designing and championing innovative self-service strategies and campaigns that deliver against the client’s goals and drive accountable business results Overseeing all aspects of self-service campaign execution, optimization, and delivery of campaigns Troubleshooting operational issues and escalating complex problems appropriately Maintaining documentation and operational standards Lead self-service implementation, including: Coordinating with technology vendors, internal stakeholders, and end-users on
tool rollouts Testing and validating new tools before team-wide implementation Creating and maintaining training documentation and process guides for new tools Ensure accuracy and compliance in retail media operations, including: Monitoring campaign setup and delivery against operational standards Conducting quality assurance checks on campaign details, audiences, and assets Ensuring compliance with platform requirements and client specifications Tracking and reporting on operational KPIs and metrics Collaborate across teams to drive operational excellence, including: Working with planning,
execution, and analytics teams to support operational needs Participating in cross-functional discussions on operational improvements Supporting the development of operational playbooks and standards Gathering feedback from teams to inform operational enhancements Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills, keeping stakeholders informed on operational issues, tool implementations, and process updates Qualifications -7+ years of experience in digital media strategy, digital media agency and/or media vendor/ad technology platform (ideally self-service) -Knowledge of:
Self-service media buying Retail media network platforms (Amazon Ads, Walmart Connect, Target+, Microsoft Advertising) Campaign setup, trafficking, and activation processes Retail media operational workflows and requirements -Demonstrated project management capabilities, with ability to: Manage projects from planning through execution Track timelines, deliverables, and dependencies Coordinate across multiple stakeholders -Operational mindset with: Attention to detail and focus on accuracy Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities Drive to improve efficiency and eliminate bottlenecks
-Understanding of retail media operations, platform requirements, and campaign trafficking best practices -An entrepreneurial spirit, desire to "change the game", a self-starter, and thinks outside of the box -Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including an analytic and fact-based approach to problem-solving -Technical aptitude and willingness to learn new platforms, tools, and systems quickly -Keen troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, particularly as they relate to retail media operations and technical issues -Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (or
equivalent professional experience) The annual salary range for this position is $99,500 -$145,000. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law. Minimum requirements
- 7+ years in digital media strategy, agency, or ad technology platforms, with knowledge of self-service media buying and retail media networks.
- Proven project management skills, managing timelines, deliverables, and coordinating stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, strong analytical, technical aptitude, and operational mindset with attention to detail.
