About the role

The Senior Cybersecurity Solutions Engineer is part of the Sales and Business Services (SBS) department, which resides on the Sales Solutions Engineering team and reports to the Manager of Cybersecurity Solutions Engineering. This is a hybrid pre-sales and post-sales engineering role supporting U.S.

State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial (SLTT) and Education (SLED) customers across the full CIS portfolio, including CIS Managed Detection and Response (CIS MDR, delivered via CrowdStrike GovCloud and Sophos commercial cloud), Managed/Extended Detection and Response (MXDR), Malicious Domain Blocking and Reporting (MDBR and MDBR+), Albert Network Monitoring and Management, CIS Hardened Images, CIS SecureSuite, networking, and cloud security.

Serving as a subject matter expert (SME) across this portfolio, the Senior Cybersecurity Solutions Engineer works hand in hand with CIS Services Account Executives and the Technical Account Management (TAM) team within the CSE/TAM operating model to drive opportunities from technical discovery and solution design through onboarding, adoption, issue resolution, and expansion.

The ideal candidate is an empathetic and proactive self-starter with a team-lead mentality; someone who works directly with customers, owns issues end to end, and sets the technical standard for the team through mentorship, enablement, and example. This role also serves as a trusted technical voice to Product Management and executive leadership, translating field and customer insights into product and business decisions.

What You'll Do: Serve as the technical SME across the CIS portfolio, including CIS MDR, MXDR, MDBR/MDBR+, Albert Network Monitoring, CIS Hardened Images, CIS SecureSuite, networking, and cloud security Provide hybrid pre-sales and post-sales engineering support, including technical discovery, solution design, demonstrations, proofs of concept, onboarding, deployment guidance, escalation management, and issue resolution through closure Own the technical customer onboarding experience for assigned accounts, accelerating time to value and protecting revenue recognition and customer satisfaction

Partner directly with CIS Services Account Executives and Senior Account Executives throughout the government sales cycle, including procurement, security reviews, and technical evaluations Operate within the CSE/TAM operating model alongside the Technical Account Management team to ensure seamless customer experience from pre-sales through onboarding, adoption, and renewal Proactively engage customers and internal stakeholders through direct, real-time communication (phone, video, and possibly, in-person meetings) to accelerate resolution and build trusted relationships Act as a technical

team lead and mentor; coaching, enabling, and upskilling solutions engineers whose experience is concentrated in CIS SecureSuite, broadening team competency across the managed security services portfolio Develop enablement content, runbooks, demonstration environments, and best-practice documentation that matures team capability and shortens team ramp time Deliver professional presentations and technical demonstrations via phone, web technologies, and live and virtual conferences, articulating the value of foundational cybersecurity as the core of all organizational initiatives Serve as the

voice of the customer; synthesize field feedback to inform Product Management priorities and support executive decision-making, collaborating regularly with product managers, Security Operations, and Engineering Identify cross-sell and upgrade opportunities; assist sales through deal closure and build use case recommendations, case studies, and testimonials Track all account contact, opportunities, and support activity in Salesforce, ensuring reporting and communication is frequent and bi-directional Represent CIS in a general capacity and present at conferences or product meetings as

necessary Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned What You'll Need: Bachelor's degree in technical or business discipline\* 5+ years of sales engineering, solutions engineering, or technical account management experience in cybersecurity, with demonstrated pre-sales and post-sales responsibilities Deep knowledge of managed security services, including MDR, EDR/XDR/MXDR, NDR/IDS, and DNS-layer security; direct experience with CrowdStrike Falcon and/or Sophos platforms Strong network engineering fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, network sensor/IDS deployment) and working knowledge

of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including hardened/secured image concepts Understanding of U.S.

SLTT government environments, procurement, and public-sector sales cycles Demonstrated experience mentoring, training, or technically leading other engineers Proactive, customer-first communication style with a proven willingness to engage by phone and drive issues to full resolution across pre-sales, onboarding, and post-sales Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written, including technical remote demonstrations via Microsoft Teams or real-time applications Familiarity with Salesforce and Microsoft Office Ability to work independently and with the team

collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Ability to travel as needed Must be authorized to work in the United States It's a Plus if You Have: Experience supporting or working within U.S.

SLTT agencies, nonprofits, or Multi-State and Election Infrastructure Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC/EI-ISAC) member organizations Related security and technical certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP, GIAC, CrowdStrike CCFA/CCFH, Sophos certifications, cloud certifications) Experience with security operations center (SOC) workflows, incident escalation, and vulnerability management Experience with MS Windows (including Windows Server), Linux, VMware vSphere and Workstation, and scripting Compensation Range: USD$93,300.00 - $163,200.00 Welcome to our employment section.

Minimum requirements
