To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What You’ll Be Doing The Sr Operations Analyst - Capital Markets supports Capital Markets operations with a focus on foreign exchange transactions, trade confirmations, settlements, reconciliations, and related operational controls. This role requires strong technical and systems knowledge to review and analyze data, ensure transactional accuracy, and maintain a high standard of client service.
In addition, the role supports the day-to-day efficiency of the unit, identifies opportunities to streamline existing processes, and contributes to key initiatives related to regulatory change, system enhancements, and operational readiness. How You’ll Succeed Collaborative & Strong Communicator – Work closely with traders, banking officers, clients, and internal operational partners to support timely and accurate processing of foreign exchange and trade-related activities. Communicate clearly and professionally to resolve issues, confirm trade details, and maintain strong working relationships. Client-Focused – Support a high standard of service for both internal and external clients by identifying and escalating issues that may impact transactions, timelines, or the overall client experience.
Build trusted relationships through responsiveness, professionalism, and sound judgment. Operations & Risk Mindset – Operate effectively in a high-risk, detail-sensitive environment where accuracy is critical, particularly when handling activities involving client and bank funds. Ensure transactions are processed in accordance with established controls, procedures, and timelines. Systems Savvy – Navigate multiple systems confidently and adapt quickly to new tools and platforms.
Experience working across banking or financial systems and supporting system upgrades, user testing, or process validation is strongly preferred. Capital Markets Knowledge – Bring experience in banking, financial services, trade operations, foreign exchange, or Capital Markets operations. Support activities related to foreign currency movements, trade confirmations, settlements, reconciliations, and, where applicable, derivative products such as interest rate swaps. Multi-Tasker – Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Use strong judgment to determine urgency, sequence work effectively, and respond to changing business needs. Detail Oriented – Review, validate, and reconcile transaction activity to ensure accuracy and completeness. Investigate discrepancies, confirm expected cash movements, and help ensure settlement obligations are met across multiple foreign currency accounts. Change & Improvement Focused – Contribute to process improvements and support initiatives tied to regulatory updates, system changes, and operational enhancements.

This role has an expected salary range of $80,000 - $95,000 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
