Amentum is the contract service provider to the DOJ ICITAP and Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT) programs.  Please Note: This is an Independent Contractor position with Amentum, it should not be considered an employment relationship with Amentum. POSITION SUMMARY: Amentum, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Justice’s International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP), is seeking a qualified Forensic Digital Evidence Advisor.

The Forensic Digital Evidence Advisor is a subject matter expert in mobile digital and computer evidentiary analysis. The advisor will mentor host country experts on training, techniques and procedures used in the collection, preservation, triage, examination, analysis, and court production of digital evidence. The advisor will train and mentor host-country experts on understanding operating systems and the variety of evidence that may be recovered from phones, computers and other digital evidence.

The advisor will train and advise host country officials on the use, maintenance and testing of equipment tools used for the extraction and analysis as well as best practices for digital or computer evidence exploitation, analysis reports and chain of custody records management. The advisor may be required to conduct advanced training related to conducting security assessments and link analysis. The advisor will also work with various US officials from Departments of State (DoS) and Justice (DOJ).

Duties may also include facilitating meetings; leading working groups; developing reports; reviewing policies; developing quality management systems; and conducting briefings. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Train and mentor host-country examiners on operating systems, digital forensics best practices, chain of custody management, and forensic report writing. Advise partners on the procurement, testing, use, and maintenance of digital extraction and analysis tools. Deliver specialized instruction in security assessments, link analysis, and digital evidence exploitation.

Lead working groups, facilitate bilateral meetings, and draft comprehensive technical reports and progress briefings for U.S. government stakeholders. Assist host-country labs in developing quality management systems, reviewing standard operating procedures (SOPs), and aligning with international forensic standards. REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 5 years of related digital evidence examination experience; Must have working level experience using a wide variety of extraction and analysis tools, other than Cellebrite.

Examples include, but are not limited to, experience using the following: Detego, Magnet AXIOM, EnCase, and/or Autopsy Experience training other forensic examiners and first responders; Excellent written and oral communication skills. Clearable: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Certification from a relevant body in the field of digital evidence; Experience supervising or managing digital evidence activities; Experience in QA/QC inspections and validation for forensic facilities or working in an ISO 17025 or 17020 accredited facility; Experience training or advising foreign officials. Compensation Details: 506.18/day The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued.
