SAP Finance Contract Accounting (FI-CA) Manager – Utilities
About the role
We Are: Accenture’s SAP practice, and we live to see how technology can transform the way we live and work. We bring reinvention to life using design thinking, modern delivery methodologies, embedding AI into the way we deliver and into our clients’ business processes. Utilities are being reshaped by the energy transition. Customers are becoming producers as well as consumers, tariffs are becoming dynamic, smart metering and electric vehicle charging are creating new services to bill, and affordability pressures and tighter customer-protection rules are changing how debt is managed.
Behind every one of those changes is a customer account that must be billed, collected, protected and accounted for accurately across millions of customers. SAP Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable (FI-CA) has sat at the heart of the SAP utilities landscape for decades. It runs payments, deposits, budget billing and installment plans, dunning, disconnection, collections, refunds and write-offs, and it posts the result to the general ledger.
It is a core component of SAP IS-U and of SAP S/4HANA Utilities, and increasingly it works alongside SAP Convergent Invoicing and SAP BRIM for new energy services. As utilities move from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, the FI-CA design decisions are among the most consequential in the program. Accenture has been a market leader in the SAP BRIM space since 2016, with a global BRIM Center of Excellence. We are expanding our US FI-CA capability to help the world’s leading utilities modernize customer accounting and prepare for what comes next.
You Are: You have a passion for the utilities industry and for delivering SAP-based customer accounting and billing transformation projects that make a positive impact on your clients’ business. Then join Accenture and build a rewarding career improving the way the world works and lives, as you help clients innovate with leading-edge SAP and Accenture solutions and technologies on some of the most innovative projects in the world.
Thrive in our highly collaborative, digitally-driven and innovation-led environment. Nurture your talent for thoughtful and game changing solutions in our inclusive culture that values diversity of ideas, experiences and backgrounds. You are a confident leader with deep contract accounting expertise who understands that, for a utility, FI-CA is where regulation, customer protection and finance meet.
You know how to design payment, collections and disconnection processes that protect cash flow while treating vulnerable customers fairly, and you know how to carry decades of FI-CA history safely into SAP S/4HANA. You translate client goals into clear, actionable designs that Finance, Customer Operations and Technology can all get behind. The more complex the regulatory and customer landscape, the more excited you are about leading the charge to solve it.

account models, payment processing and clearing, security deposits, budget billing and instalment plans, refunds and final bills, and posting to the general ledger Design dunning, collections and disconnection processes that balance cash recovery with regulatory obligations, hardship and affordability programs, third-party collection agencies, bad debt write-offs and provisioning Design the integration of FI-CA with SAP IS-U / SAP S/4HANA Utilities billing, device management and customer service, and with SAP Convergent Invoicing, Convergent Charging and SAP BRIM where utilities are
